Bach Collegium San Diego

Bach Collegium San Diego (BCSD) was founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Ruben Valenzuela to bring dynamic historically informed performances to the greater San Diego area. Over the last twenty seasons the ensemble has garnered international and national recognition through its exemplary talent and creative programming. The ensemble engages many of the country’s finest vocalists and instrumentalists, making it one of the premier early music ensembles in the United States. Recently, the ensemble has gained national attention through its El Mesías: Messiah for a New World project which yielded an original complete Spanish libretto of Handel's iconic oratorio, which included a performance at Centro Cultural, Tijuana. Additionally, BCSD has been invited to make its BachFest, Leipzig debut in June 2024.
